Biography

Brother J. Vernard Flowers is a native of Savannah, Georgia. He was educated in the Savannah/Chatham County Public Schools and graduated from H. V. Jenkins High School in 1981. He graduated from Savannah, Technical College in 1984 with a master's degree in Cosmetology. He graduated from Gupton Jones Mortuary College (Atlanta, Ga.) in 1993.

He is married and devoted to Mrs. Lisa Copper Flowers and has four children. He is a member of the First Jerusalem Baptist Church, where Rev. Gregory A. Tyson, Sr. is pastor. There, he serves as Minister of Music.

J. Vernard is the Founder and Director of Mass Production Gospel Choir. Under his leadership, this choir has been singing for 25 years. He has recorded with many gospel greats since 1977. To name a few, Grammy nominated E. Larry McDuffie and the Savannah Community Choir, the Georgia Mass Choir, the Gospel Music Workshop of America, Inc. and Mass Production Gospel Choir.

J. Vernard is a member of the First District Georgia Funeral Service Practitioners Association, Inc., and of the Chamber of Commerce in Savannah and Sylvania, Georgia. J. Vernard is the owner of Sylvania Funeral Home, Inc. and Co-Owner of My Little Darlings Child Care.
