Elijah Larry McDuffie
AKA E. Larry McDuffie
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
Being a creative person, there were times that it seemed like my creative juices had dried up. Have you ever been there? When you wanted to write that next song, but it seemed like nothing was happening in the creative realm. Here is a scripture that renewing my creativity, Isaiah 43:19:
Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
WOW, what a Blessed Assurance.
During the time when I was traveling with the Savannah Community Choir we had gone to Nashville, TN for a recording session, when we ran into a snow storm. The bus started experiencing problems with heat and we had miles to travel before reaching the hotel. I had a talk with the Lord, and said, "Lord I know that you did not bring us out here to leave us." God spoke me through Joshua 1: 5,9:
There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for theLord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
I shared this scripture with the choir, and we started singing and praying, and what a great trip that end up becoming.
The book of Isaiah has always been a blessing in my life. I remember when all that I had worked so hard to accomplish in life seemed to be threatened by the enemy. The devil was using his tongue to try to destroy my very existence, but again God spoke to me through Isaiah 54:17:
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.
This scripture is priceless in my life. When the enemy tries to speak lies in your life, feast on this scripture. It works.
